On a misty winter day, Kasey, Andrea and I drove through the forests of Washington together on our way to one of the Pacific Northwest’s countless waterfalls. Andrea and Kasey have that breezy, fun, effortless-looking kind of love that we all recognize but which few can attain. We laughed and joked and they told me about their jobs (I have even more respect for what nurses do after hearing their stories) and hiked down a windy forest path towards the sound of a raging waterfall. Has a more photogenic spot for romantic photos ever existed?
When our ears and toes were too cold and our jackets were soaked from being tossed on the wet rocks, we walked back to the car and headed into Seattle for the main event: a private courthouse wedding.
Courthouse weddings are the most underrated of wedding ideas. Couples who want to bypass all the stress of planning, the cost of a giant party, and the anxiety of being the center of attention should definitely look into it: it can be so romantic to focus 100% of your attention on your spouse (and of course bring me along to make you some photos.) Kasey and Andrea flew all the way across the country to have an intimate courthouse wedding in a city they wanted to visit, and I think that’s perfectly romantic.
Thanks for letting me third wheel your perfect elopement, Kasey and Andrea.
