Brian and Alexis: a surprise proposal

In my opinion, there can be nothing more romantic than the moment of a proposal. For many of us, this moment is one which we will remember forever… but few propose-ers have the foresight and romantic inclination to hire a photographer to capture this moment, let alone to do it at the most gorgeous location imaginable. I just gotta give Brian props: he really nailed it.

Brian and Alexis live all the way in Ohio, but Brian intuitively knew that the waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge were the perfect place to propose to his girlfriend Alexis. Smart man.

The day of our shoot, the sun was shining, the breezes were blowing, and Latourell falls in the Columbia River Gorge was raging with a misty Spring force I’ve never seen before. It was the perfect place to propose. I pretended to be a nature photographer, which was a very fun fiction for a few minutes.

Brian knew better to choose the (very wet) spot in front of the waterfall for the moment of the proposal, so they headed down to the sweet bridge below. Luckily, I had a perfect aerial view! Once it seemed clear she had given Brian “enthusiastic consent” to marry her and they had some time to enjoy the moment, I popped down to introduce myself and told Alexis that it was time for some engagement photos. She was such a lovely sport about being surprised with a shoot!

Way to go above and beyond, Brian!
